SUMMARY:NIUF G2G Boston October Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Join the Boston Chapter for an NIU G2G Dinner\, October 5th featuring guest speaker Dr. Cathal Nolan\, Professor of Military History at Boston University! \nDr. Nolan recently published “The Allure of Battle: A History of How Wars Have Been Won and Lost.”(Note: my JMIC citations manual compels me to let you know I have no rich text available to cite this properly!) His work is excellently written and systematically and engrossingly examines the great battles\, tracing what he calls “short-war thinking\,” the hope that victory might be swift and wars brief. As he proves persuasively\, however\, such has almost never been the case. I am sure we all can relate. His book stops in 1945\, which is where our own rich experience can pick up for a robust discussion. \nDr. Nolan will have books on hand for signing below the cost of what you might find on the market. \nClick here to register!!
