The DoD NDSEG Fellowship Program, serves as a means of increasing the number of U.S. citizens trained in science and engineering disciplines to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines at a U.S. institution of their choosing.
Eligibility. The NDSEG Fellowship Program is open only to U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals. Recent NIU bachelor’s and master’s degree recipients are eligible to apply.
The PMF Program has been the Federal government’s premier leadership development program for advanced degree candidates. The Program focuses on developing a cadre of potential government leaders, and is designed to lead to Federal employment.
Eligibility. NIU graduate students who complete an advanced degree during the current academic year are eligible to apply. Individuals who obtained NIU master’s degrees no more than 2 years prior to the opening date of the announcement are eligible to apply.
The Secretary’s Honors Program (SHP) is a highly competitive, premier program for exceptional entry-level professionals looking for a career at the Department of Homeland Security. The SHP Cyber Student Intern Program is for current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a program of study in a cybersecurity-related field.
Eligibility. Students with cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or above, who are enrolled in NIU bachelor’s or master’s degree programs with a major and/or coursework in cybersecurity related studies or a STEM-related field are eligible to apply.
The TNSF Program is an opportunity for technologists and entrepreneurs to serve their country by embedding with key decision makers at the top levels of the U.S. Government to provide advice and emerging expertise at the critical intersection of national security and technology.
Eligibility. Recent or imminent STEM graduates (or have meaningful equivalent work experience), who have a desire to contribute their technical knowledge to the national security enterprise, and are willing to serve in non-partisan roles on the immediate staffs of key decision makers in Congress and at the Pentagon.
For over 20 years, the NNSA Graduate Fellowship Program (NGFP) has been developing the next generation of nuclear security, nonproliferation policy, and technical leaders. NGFP offers unmatched opportunities for graduate-level students to gain hands-on experience and explore careers across the NNSA enterprise. Our fellows are highly sought after by employers, with many going on to make important contributions to NNSA and other leading national security organizations including national laboratories.
Eligibility. The NGFP is open to U.S. citizens who are eligible for a security clearance with a career interest in U.S. and global nuclear security. Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at the time of application or have completed a graduate degree program within 18 months prior to the application deadline. Applicants must also have a final or current cumulative GPA of at least 3.20.
